Those of you receiving this message are registered to attend an Optical Training class in Louisville, Kentucky. The class will start promptly at 9:00 AM EST and will last until 5 PM or later if there is further interest. Please plan to stay late if you would like as much time as possible using the equipment. We will have a lunch break at 12 noon for 30-45 minutes. I will send another message after this one about the lunch. The second half of the class will start at 12:45. This class will be held at Fern Creek Baptist Church, 5920 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Ky. 40291. Below are the driving instructions to the class.

You can come into Louisville from several different directions. When coming from East I-64 or South I-71 you will go South on I-265 and follow NORTH ON BARDSTOWN ROAD below. When going East on I-64 coming from the West, continue through Louisville and take Hurstbourne Road South and follow the SOUTH ON BARDSTOWN ROAD section below. When going South on I-65 from Indiana, go East on I-64, take Hurstbourne Road South and follow the SOUTH ON BARDSTOWN ROAD section below.

I suggest that if you are establishing hotel reservations you should go to http://www.hotels.com and enter Louisville, Ky. Look at the map for Hotels near the intersection of Interstate 64 and Hurstbourne Drive. Here are some that are listed (in no particular order): Days Inn Hurstbourne/Louisville East, Red Roof Inn Louisville East, and Country Inn Suites.

If you come into Louisville from the Gene Snyder freeway (Interstate 265) you will follow these instructions to the church: Go up the hill to the top of a hill past the stoplight at the top. On the left side is a Chevron station. Past the Chevron station is Fern Creek Baptist church which is sitting back off the road for some distance. Turn into the FIRST entrance to the church which is right past that station. You will be coming into the left side of the church. You will see a side entrance with steps down to a door. There will also be a parking lot there. You will part in the parking lot and come in that door. The door will be open. There will be signs all over the place telling where you should go to get to the optical clinic.

If you are coming down SOUTH Bardstown road from (for example) Hurstbourne Drive you will take a left onto Bardstown road from Hurstbourne drive. On the left is a Clark gasoline station. You will go south on Bardstown road past a Putt-Putt golf course on the right. You will go past the road named Wimsatt Way. You will then see an entrance to the church past a dental office. The church may not yet be visible. Skip this entrance and go to the 2nd entrance (before the Chevron on the right). Take a right into this entrance. You will be coming into the left side of the church. You will see a side entrance with steps down to a door. There will also be a parking lot there. You will part in the parking lot and come in that door. The door will be open. There will be signs all over the place telling where you should go to get to the optical clinic.

In the best of times the airport is about 45 minutes from the Church. I would allow at least 1.5 hours. When you come out of the airport get on Interstate 264 EAST (Watterson Expressway). Follow this for several miles and take a right on Bardstown Road South. (You will pass the Newburg Road exit) You will go past a large movie theater on the right which is shut down.... past Buchel Bypass and eventually several miles down you will see the Hurstborne road intersection on the left. Now follow the "SOUTH ON BARDSTOWN ROAD" instructions above.
