Optical Training Class Description
This class is structured to explain how to prepare for your optical trip along with how to operate your clinic when you arrive on the mission field. This optical training class will have two segments.
The morning class starts at 9:00 AM and lasts until 12 Noon. (or it could run over) This class will be covering all aspects of building your inventory. It will discuss extensively the Glasses Reader program which has gone through extensive revisions and enhancements. It will not be covering the use of the optical equipment that I provide that is for use on your mission trip. It will be discussing the use of the lensmeter. For teams who already have their own inventory, this will tell you how to put this inventory into the computer system or to update it should you have already placed it into inventory.
The afternoon class starts promptly at 1 AM and lasts until 5 PM. This covers the operation of your optical clinic. You will get a chance to use the autorefractor and gain considerable understanding as to how the inventory system operates. You will learn valuable optical principles. You will learn how to physically fit glasses to people's face. You will learn how to select readers for the patient. You will be given step-by-step procedures to follow from the point the person enters your clinic until they leave with a pair of glasses. You will learn other optical equipment which can be used for those extreme cases where the eye is so bad that the autorefractor does not get a reading. This class is longer than the first class to give everybody as much time as possible to use the autorefractor. We will stay later than 5PM if there is an interest.
This class will be taught at Fern Creek Baptist Church located in Fern Creek, Ky at 5920 Bardstown road. Instructions will be provided when we get closer to the class.
The cost of this class is $48 plus $12 to cover the cost of the lunch. This just barely covers the cost of the material which will be given to you at the class. As I have told many people we are not doing this for the money. We are doing this to help you bring people to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As you will discover when working with our company ...there is no profit motivation.
